A conversation is one chat session between your customer and the AI agent. It counts as one conversation regardless of how many messages are exchanged — whether it's 2 messages or 20. Opening the widget without sending a message doesn't count.
Different AI models have different costs. Each conversation uses model-weighted units against your plan limit: Haiku = 1 unit, Sonnet = 3 units, Opus = 15 units. For example, on the Pro plan (2,500 units/month), you could have ~833 Sonnet conversations or 2,500 Haiku conversations, or any mix.
On the Free plan, new conversations are blocked at the limit. On paid plans, conversations continue without interruption and overage is billed at the end of your billing cycle — Starter at $0.10/unit, Pro and Business at $0.07/unit.
Most chatbot platforms charge per message (each back-and-forth). We charge per conversation (one session, unlimited messages). A typical 5-message conversation would cost 5 credits elsewhere but just 1 unit here. This means longer, more helpful conversations don't cost you more.
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time — changes are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
